OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH

Thank you for choosing to submit your paper to us. These instructions will ensure we have everything required so your paper can move through peer review, production and publication smoothly. Please take the time to read and follow them as closely as possible, as doing so will ensure your paper matches the journal’s requirements.

Articles and other material published in the International Journal of Humanities and Social Development Research represent the opinions of the author(s) and should not be considered to reflect the opinions of the Editorial Board. Copyrights for articles are retained by the authors, with first publication rights granted to the journal. Authors have the right to reuse, reprint, archive, and distribute their own articles after publication. The journal/publisher is not responsible for subsequent usage of the work. Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word or LaTeX format and submitted online. The editors reserve the right to edit or otherwise alter all contributions, but authors will receive proofs for approval before publication. All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening, anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees, and consequent revision by article authors when required.

International Journal of Humanities and Social Development Research considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that;

·        the manuscript is your own original work, and does not duplicate any other previously published work, including your own previously published work.

·         the manuscript has been submitted only to International Journal of Humanities and Social Development Research; it is not under consideration or peer review or accepted for publication or in press or published elsewhere.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscript structure: Manuscript should consists of introduction, literature review, research methodology, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgment (if any) and a complete list of references.

Language: The journal is published in English. Please write your article in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). In order to avoid possible grammatical or spelling errors and to make your work readable and understandable for readers, we advise you to get your work proofread by professionals or native speakers before submitting it.

Title page:  The title page should be sent as a separate document from the main text . Title should not exceed 12 words. Please give full name (first, middle and last name) but omit titles. Give the affiliation of each author and complete mailing address of the institution where the work was conducted. Please denote the corresponding author with an asterisk (*) and provide the email address of the corresponding author.

Title

Be concise and informative. The title is often used in information-retrieval systems and should be no more than 21 words in length and not contain abbreviations or words that serve no purpose. If you choose to have a subtitle, it should be italicized and centered directly below the main title.

Length:  The Editorial Board solicits and encourages publication of worthy papers with a length not exceeding 8000 words (double-spaced, A4-size), inclusive of abstract, endnotes and references.  Introduction and conclusion sections are compulsory. But International Journal of Humanities and Social Development Research (IJHSDR) will publish longer manuscripts of important and ground-breaking research.

Abstract: Manuscripts should include an abstract of 150-250 words summarizing the significant findings. The abstract should explain the critical information related to the paper's aim, method, findings, results and conclusions.

Keywords: Keywords should represent the content of your manuscript and specific to the field of study. Keywords should not be more than five.

Font and spacing: Please use Times New Roman 12pt and all submissions (original articles, book reviews, research notes and thesis abstracts) should be typed in double spacing (including notes and references).

Quotations: Quoted words, phrases and sentences should be enclosed in double quotation marks. Quotations within quotations and glosses should be enclosed in single quotation marks.

Abbreviations: Any unnecessary abbreviations should be eliminated and any necessary ones should be explained. Abbreviations in tables and figures should be explained in the table notes and figure captions or legends.

Table and illustration: All tables and figures should be placed as close to the corresponding text as possible. Caption should be set in sentence case and labelled with Arabic numerals (e.g.: Table 1, Figure 1). Figure (image) size is 300 dpi or higher. Table caption is placed at the top section of the table while figure caption is place at the bottom section of the figure. If data for table and figure are taken from other source, please include the source. Author is responsible for acquiring copyright from the appropriate party (such as publisher, person, institution, etc.).

Footnotes: Authors are encouraged to minimize the use of footnotes. A footnote may include the designation of a corresponding author of the paper, current address information for an author (if different from that shown in the affiliation), and traditional footnote content. Information concerning grant support of research should appear in a separate Acknowledgments section at the end of the paper, not in a footnote. Acknowledgments of the assistance of colleagues or similar notes of appreciation also properly belong in an Acknowledgments section, not in footnotes.

Footnotes should be indicated in the text by the following symbols: *(asterisk or star), ¶ (paragraph mark), # (number sign). Do not use numerals for footnote call-outs, as they may be mistaken for bibliographical reference call-outs or exponents. Type each footnote at the bottom of the typescript page on which its text call-out appears. Footnotes within a table should be indicated by the same symbols listed above. Reinitialize symbol sequence within tables. Type footnotes to a table directly beneath the table.

Appendixes and Acknowledgement should be placed at the end of the manuscript, before the reference list.

References and text citations: The format of the text should be as following: Times New Roman size 10-point font, double line spacing, no indentations at the beginning of the paragraphs. References and citations must be in Harvard Referencing System. Entries in the reference list should be put either in alphabetical or chronological order. All references should be in 10-point font.
